We have provided services including: site management and monitoring, specification development, project management, QA resource development (checklists and ITPs).
Some of the projects our staff have worked on include multiple Pacific Highway upgrades in the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions, Newcastle Light Rail, and Project Managing the development of the Nelson Bay Rd upgrade at Anna Bay. Big Business Projects
Niland Engineering’s staff have also done the not so big stuff. We have undertaken pavement investigation and design in areas right across the state. We have also undertaken close analysis and audit of various suppliers like concrete and asphalt, to ensure the product delivered is what you pay for and gets the job done. Geotechnical settlement prediction and retaining wall design has also been undertaken
We have also been a go to for large business when they have a short term need for a critical role. We recently supplied a full time resource for a couple of months to a local concrete casting yard to oversee manufacture of concrete bridge girders for the NorthConnex project. All girders were manufactured on time, to correct specification and done cheaper than the company could supply their own person.
We also supply services to oversee foundation works for housing developments, so that you can get that all-important signoff from council to proceed with building. We can supply services to councils to regularly inspect Developer works to ensure good quality work is undertaken.

The Small
Small Projects
After speaking recently with people building their new home, it was striking to see how little help was available other than from the builder who has a motivation to maximise their profits, to assist those people making probably their biggest investment in life. Sometimes, you just need someone to inspect your site to say the ground conditions are right for a driveway, or to review drawings for your new home, or offer alternatives to what is being proposed by a builder.
